On the opportunity detail form can I using javascript to read a field from the user entity? The short answer is yes, you can read the user entity. In CRM 4.0 and 2011 you can do a soap request to retrieve the user or do a fetchXml to retrieve just that field from the user entity. I would suggest looking into doing fetchXml with JScript, that should point you in the right direction.10 Nov, 2010 9:44 AM
I have about 18 months Javascript experience and have worked with a web2 product called servicenow extensivkle. I am now starting to develop dynamics crm but need to some guidance on how to add javascript controls against a form - basically I am looking to show a field based on the value of a pick list entry. I am looking for this to be an onchange script but for some reason what i have isn't working. This is the first time I have tried to do this with dynamics hence any screen shots as well as code would be really useful to get me started. With CRM 4, you shouldn't have a problem using the onchange event. For CRM 2011 and the new version of CRM Online, I will post an article on how to do it. If you need to do this with CRM 4.0, please let me know.27 Dec, 2010 7:40 PM
